Come enjoy a beautiful ride in the country. Choose the 15, 30, 50 or 85-mile route, all on paved county roads. The 15 and 30-mile courses include a few easy hills, while the 50 and 85-mile courses have enough hills to make it challenging, including a few sustained climbs. While all of the routes are on paved roads, the majority of them are county roads, which vary in the smoothness of their surfaces.
Check In and Start: Check-in at the Newport City Park (from Hwy 2 go north 2 blocks on Calispel Ave.) beginning at 7:00am. The 85-mile ride will begin at 8:00, all others at 9:00.
Food & Support: The ride includes food/water stops along the routes and a delicious meal at the finish, which will be available from ll:00am to 3:00pm. Each rider is responsible for the mechanical condition of his/her bicycle. It is advised that each rider carry a spare tube, patch kit and bike pump. All riders are required to wear an ANSI or SNELL approved bike helmet while riding.
T-shirts: T-shirt orders received after August 25, 2009 will be mailed after the ride.
Raffle: Tickets are available for purchase before the rides begin, and winners will be drawn after starting times. Prizes from North Division Bicycle Shop, Bicycle Sales and Service in Ceour d'Alene, and Sandpoint Sports will be distributed during the lunch served for riders from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Tickets are $1 each, or 6 for $5.
